Max's Par-tay

We had a simple party for Max's 2nd birthday. It was nice to not have the stress of arranging the place, party favors, etc. Easy and fun.

I made Knorr Spinach Dip off the back of the Knorr Veggie Dip Mix - SO good. I know friends who have made this, except I didn't do the Hawaiian bread bowl, just blue tortilla chips. But this could be one of my new recipes to take to parties, etc. Yum! I also made those pinwheels - from allrecipes.com. They were pretty good too.
Andy and I usually try to make our own crazy cakes, but it was so nice just ordering from Sam's this year. I stuck a trash truck on top - and it was delicious!
Look at that sweet Grammy holding his hand while she listens.

He got a Little Tikes fire truck from Papa Clay. They both love it.
Lots of stuff! He has his hand on one of his favorites - an Imaginext fire station. He pretends to put the firemen to bed in the bunk beds, and they climb "up, up, up! the yadder."yay Max!

Max is 2!

Can't believe how fast it's flown by. We'll have a small family party this Saturday but we sang to him this morning.

Big brother's tickles!
Jake has been asking to go get donuts, so we did for a special treat today. The sweet lady at the shop gave us free sprinkled donuts for his birthday.

Trying to blow, but it was more like "ffff"
he says, "wum!" (yum)
This was later at lunch today. ;) We love you so much sweet boy!

Cardboard Testimony

I just love how all of those stories bring glory to God. Imagine what it will be like in heaven. Choked up and teary...

What would yours be?

Tall Boys

Based on this height predictor, Max will be 6'2" and Jake will be 6'1" at age 18! Surprised me that it gave Max an inch more than Jake. Watch them both be 5'6" or something...

wow...

Paul Harrington Band

Friday night we went to hear my dad and brother play at the Shops at Legacy. It was fun to see my kiddos appreciate the music more. Max kept saying, "grandpa...songs" and was snapping his fingers (flicking his fingers). And Jake couldn't get enough.

So proud of my dad and brother. Listen on his myspace page...(no clue he was on myspace! Jim must have helped...;))

Remember the gumball eyes?

Helping

The other day I had the dustpan out and he decided to help. Cracked me up - he would pick grass to put in the dustpan,

bring it IN the house,

to dump in the trash......but he usually missed. So he'd have to put back in the DUSTPAN and try again.

This went on for 15 minutes. He kept saying, "grass, grass."

Two-year-olds...;)

Chores

One of Jake's chores is to take our recyling (which we put in this cardboard box right outside the kitchen door to the garage) and dump it in the blue bin.

He was so happy he could lift it up and dump himself. (If it's too heavy he has to do it the slow way - transferring by hand.)
Grrrr!

So proud! 50 cents!

In Under 5 Minutes...

Ha! This was back in April when he was sick for so long. Thank you Lord that he's been much better...for a long time now. Sweet boy - he LOVES that blankie ("ya-ya"- don't ask me why) and paci ("papeece").

Whew! Better!

I played with www.thecutestblogontheblock.com and www.scrapblog.com for too long tonight and updated finally! (BTW, have any of you scrapblog girls noticed that now a lot of the themes/backgrounds/stickers cost now?! frustrated by that...)

And I realized in spending all this time on cute-i-fying my blog that this is a fun creative outlet for me. I really loved scrapbooking, but it just took SOOO long to pull everything out, shop at the store for just what I wanted (not to mention planning what to buy and the cost involved), and to make the layouts just right. So updating my blog every once in a while like this gives me a little creative fun. Great because it's free, relatively quick and there's a million options online. Fun. Now I need sleep.

Oh, yeah, and I'll put pics of the boys up soon. ;)
